Cynthia Morrow Continues Recovery
Following her stroke of August 4, Executive Director / Principal Conductor Cynthia Morrow is recovering at Regency Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Coupeville. She will probably remain there for another 30 - 60 days. At Regency, she is able to get frequent short sessions of physical, speech, and daily-living activities therapy. This works well, because her stamina is still quite limited.
She is showing some welcome improvement. She is interactive with her surroundings. Gary estimates that she comprehends more than half of what he says to her. Although she still has difficulty with speech, what she does say is meaningful. She is occasionally able to swallow some food, but still requires her gastrostomy tube for nutrition.
Cynthia welcomes cards, letters, and flowers (311 3rd Street NE, Coupeville, WA 98239), but still prefers not to receive visitors.
Told that she had many people holding her in love, she smiled and said, "Tell them I am doing well." The good wishes and positive thoughts of the orchestra community mean a lot to Cynthia and Gary. Keep them coming - we look forward to further recovery.
